Coding agents write patches fast and grade their own homework. They delete a failing test, weaken an assertion, loosen a budget, or claim a live integration works when only a mock ran. The gauntlet treats every AI-written patch as untrusted until it earns a release dec

Every patch is risk-classified first (R0 cosmetic to R3 irreversible; disagreement resolves to the higher class), then runs seven gates: intent, containment, deterministic checks, independent review, behavior and UX, non-functional, and an adversarial grill. Each gate emits a typed, hash-chained packet, so the decision can be audited

Anti-gaming is mechanical: retries are recorded as failures, mock-only evidence cannot prove a live integration, a repair re-enters as a fresh patch, and test deletion or assertion weakening is flagged as high

Verified from a clean copy on 2026-09-28: 316 of 316 tests pass across 14 test files, including a golden corpus of 12 patch classes where the 3 adversarial ones (test deletion, assertion weakening, a leaked secret) are all
